Global Spaceport Alliance Welcomes Executive Order on Commercial Space Industry Competition

Alexandria, VA — The Global Spaceport Alliance (GSA), a coalition of spaceport stakeholders and industry, academic and government partners, acknowledges the White House’s recent Executive Order titled “Enabling Competition in the Commercial Space Industry.” The order outlines a series of directives aimed at improving regulatory efficiency and promoting fair access within the commercial space sector, with several provisions expected to impact spaceport operations directly.

“We view this Executive Order as a constructive step toward addressing longstanding challenges faced by spaceport operators,” said Dr. George Nield, Chair of the Global Spaceport Alliance. “Efforts to streamline licensing, improve infrastructure support, and ensure equitable access to federal assets are important for the continued development of the spaceport ecosystem.”

GSA will continue to monitor the implementation process and progress of the Executive Order and looks forward to seeing its effects.
